Message from the Board (2020)

Dear Catchacoma Cottagers’ Association members,

I know we are all eager to begin to plan our summer at the cottage but clearly a wrench has been thrown into those plans. It’s called Covid 19. As we know it is a devastating virus that is wreaking havoc around the world. It is definitely an  unpredictable and troubling time for us all. Although I do believe, the world will be a more compassionate place when we come out of this on the other side.

We think it is important now to show our support among the community we reside in during the summer months. There are a number of families that are feeling the effects of their jobs being on hold or lost as a result of Covid 19 in our area. A number need immediate help to keep food on their tables.

A new initiative has been implemented by Trent Lakes.  Community Care in Buckhorn has set up a new food voucher program to support families who need this assistance to purchase groceries to ensure they have food on their table and to keep them healthy during this very difficult time.

As such, the Catchacoma Cottagers’ Association will be making a donation of $250 to this important cause. Very soon we will be reaching out to you all to renew your memberships. You will see a request to add to your membership a donation should you wish to provide additional monies to this very important community cause. You can donate here.

We also would like to remind you, should you be coming up to the cottage in the short term to social distance, to bring your groceries and necessities with you to not overburden the local area at this time.

Thank you and stay safe and healthy.
