2024 Water Quality Report

Report cover

The Trent Aquatic Research Program (TARP) from Trent University has again produced their Kawartha Highlands Water Quality Report 2024 (pdf). The report covers about 30 lakes, half of which are on the west side of the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park in the Municipality of Trent Lakes and half on the east side in the Township of North Kawartha.

The current report is based on the water sampling program completed in August of 2023. Once again for Catchacoma Lake the report shows only minor variations in the results from recent years. The water quality is stable in Catchacoma and in most of our lakes. The actual variables and measurements are explained in TARP Water Quality Primer 2021 (pdf).

Readers may find it interesting  to compare our results to those from those  our tributary lakes, Anstruther, Bottle and Pencil Lakes, and with other nearby lakes.

The program is partially funded by donations including donations from most local Lake Associations. There are details in the report outlining how individuals can donate directly to support this work.

Questions regarding specific results should be directed to the TARP program.
