As of September 22, our lake levels are just slightly below normal for this time of year and are forecast to drop by another 31 cms or 12 inches in the next two weeks. This is our normal drawdown pattern for late September into October. That will bring us to our normal winter log setting in the dam and minimum levels by the second week of October.
At this time of year TSW lowers all reservoir levels with the goal of reaching minimum levels before mid-October in order to accommodate the trout spawning. If levels drop after the trout spawn there is a risk the spawn will freeze over winter or become exposed to air.
